The technological tools and resources provided by Axia College are amazing. When I first signed up for distance learning and was told that all of the course material would be provided to me online, I thought to myself, “How does this work?” As soon as I had access to the student website, I logged in to see what was in store for me and to my surprise I found audio resources in addition to written resources. I was amazed that I had a choice, I could listen to parts of the assignments or I could read them myself.
What a great choice to have; I have found that what works best for me is to listen to the audio as I follow along reading the words in the written format. I feel this is an advantage for me; it takes the blah out of reading and makes it more interesting and fun. This also helps me stay focused. Sometimes hearing what you have to read can assist in helping me to better understand the content.
I truly believe having this option improves the quality of my educational experience for the reasons stated above. I also believe this does make learning more convenient because I can download the content and take it with me to listen to in the car on my drive to and from work. I have already done so a few times. I have loaded the tutorials on my PDA and listened to them on the way home. This option makes it much easier because by the time I get home, I can get to work on the assignment without having to sit and read unless I need to reference back to the material. I think all of the reading should have audio as an option!
