I am currently a senior at the University of majoring in Accounting with a minor in Management. When determining my major I wanted to enter a field that can be used in any corporation. I wanted a major that will open doors for me and allow me to grow into my career. I also have a very high interest in marketing which is an extremely competitive profession at this time. I would like to utilize my degree to enter a company that I enjoy working for and develop my skills in different areas of the company.
For my age my resume is highly diverse. My first job was at Harkins Movie Theater working in concessions and customer service. This job helped me discover that I enjoy working in a team. I then worked in a few summer retail positions for a variety of companies, which included Target, Burlington, and Nike. Once I started my undergraduate I began to network and grow professionally. My first internship at the University was in the athletic department working for Arizona Football. During this internship I worked with the recruiting staff assisting in recruiting new student athletes into the Arizona Football program. This internship gave me an insight into the world of sports and business. After completing the internship I was offered a student position as a recruiting assistant. Obtaining this position opened many doors for me and allowed me the opportunity to explore other areas of athletics and business.
After working with the Football for a couple of seasons I was offered the position of Event Management within Athletics. This position allowed me to work with a variety of athletic teams at the University including Football, Baseball, Softball, Golf and Men’s Basketball. This job expanded my knowledge of team management and budgets. While working at a fundraising event I meet the head of the Center for English as a Second Language . She offered me a summer position as a peer counselor. This position allowed me to work with the International Fulbright program. I had the opportunity to work with graduate students from around the world. After this summer internship under the instruction of my advisor I applied for a job with the Wells Fargo Corporation. I did this to help expand my knowledge and strengthen my application to the Eller College of Management. I began at Wells Fargo as a banker and was promoted to a business specialist within 2 months.
