Introductory Activities
The instructor will introduce the lesson by asking questions to determine what the students know. This normally peaks the interest of the students.
The instructor will then start the lecture on "The Business of Managing Diabetes". This is the first of a two lessons about the effect that diabetes has on businesses' bottom line. Although this is a lesson about what this disease costs are to the business community, you cannot fully comprehend the scope of it until you know what the disease is and the affect that it has on the human body. This first lesson defines diabetes and explains exactly what it is. The second lesson will cover the costs to business; the necessities of prevention and the financial savings that are derived from it, and how to help employees that have diabetes manage their health.
