Waste to energy as a mean of renewable energy in the Philippines

Thesis statement: The use of waste to energy in the Philippines can help minimize the

                         recent problems on energy crisis and at the same time helps the

                         environment.

I. Impact of waste to energy to the environment as well as the society.

A. There are ways to minimize or reduce solid waste in the society.

  1. Reducing the amount of plastics or plastic products we consume.
  2. Reuse plastic materials to avoid spending money and giving it another purpose.
  3. Recycling plastics by turning them into clothing.

B. Conversion of material solid waste to energy.

  1. Thermochemical process of organic waste that produces syngas that can be used as an alternative fuel and also steam production to generate electricity.
  2. Biochemical process of organic waste can produce biofuels as a clean renewable energy and as an alternative fuel used in transportation.

II. There are a lot of benefits in converting waste to energy

  1. The use of biofuel is much better compared to fossil fuels.
  2. Converting waste to energy has a great contribution in production of energy and in helping the environment.

III. Biomass only has a minimal contribution in the energy production in the Philippines but there are still ways for it to increase.
