The Importance of Girls’ Education

Once, there was a belief which education is unnecessary for girls. Girls should be staying home, doing housework and get married. In northwest Pakistan, the local Taliban banned the girls from attending the school. Somehow, a hero without a cape like Malala Yousafzai tried to bring out the girls on their right for an education. Her effort became worthwhile and had opened thousands of eyes around the world. She had become a role model for girls around the world to rise and fight for their rights in education so as to maintain equality between both genders. Reflecting on this story, people nowadays should realise that the girls’ education do give many benefits such as creating future educated generation, reducing  domestic and sexual violence and decreasing the child marriages.

An educated girl will help to create a future generation who are educated. Someday, girls will become a mom to their children. As mothers, they would always make sure that they do their best for their children. Somehow, lack of education and knowledge will limit their ability to provide the best as they should and could. In this case, it shows how important a girl’s’ education is in creating a better future. A girl who had received good education will become a mother who is well-equipped with the knowledge that can guide them in bringing up their children well both physically and mentally.  An educated mom can provide early education at home for their children so that their children will be well prepared before getting into school. In a family, the mom is the person who is always the closest to their children, so much of what the children learn will of course depend on their mother. In short, we can relate with the role of a mom in a family and conclude that the girls’ education is important to create a better future by raising up educated children.

As we all know domestic abuse and sexual violence had become so serious nowadays. Therefore a girls’ education can be the one of the elements that can help put a stop to these issues. These issues had became serious due to the victims, mostly girls who were afraid to speak out and fight for their own safety. They were being hit, sexually abused and threatened not to tell anybody as things will go worst if they do. So, a girls’ education is important to reduce the domestic and sexual violence among girls. With education, they will know how to defend themselves to avoid from being a victim and take a step to fight back. Education and knowledge will help them to take a better care of themselves and help them to deal with any situations and violence. As example, they were given an opportunity and an encouragement to learn martial arts. The skills then will help them to defend themselves from attackers in order to save their own life and maybe helping the other girls. Thus, it will put a stop to abusers and attackers and also lowering the domestic and violence cases among girls and women.
