The Lies of Satan.
The first lie that was ever told was told by Satan in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 2:7 God told Adam and Eve "Of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die." Later Satan lied to Eve by telling her "You shall not surely die" (Genesis) 3:4. Jesus speaks about Satan in John 8:44 "... there is no truth in him when he speaks a lie; he speaks from his own nature, for he is a father of lies." Since the beginning of time Satan has been the father of deception and continues to do so today. Anything that is contradictory to God's word is another lie of Satan. There are many popular beliefs, which I will briefly describe, that Satan uses to deceive people today.
Universalism is popular lie that Satan uses to deceive today. Basically Universalism is the belief that everyone will be saved and no one will be condemned. Matthew 7:13 & 14 contradicts this theory by stating "Wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life and there are few who find it." If we choose to believe God and His word then we know that there will be many who are lost. This contradicts the lie of Universalism. Who will people believe, God or Satan?
Another popular lie that Satan likes to tell is the lie of faith only salvation. According to faith only salvation all one must do is believe and say the "Sinner's Prayer" to be forgiven of sins and to be saved. Satan says that it is ok to be baptized after you are saved because he knows that one is saved at the point of baptism. If one is not being baptized for forgiveness of sins then all his baptism does is "remove the filth of the flesh". The Bible says "He who believe and is baptized shall be saved. (Mark 16:16) Who is telling a lie, God or Satan?
One of Satan's most popular lies is the concept of "Once saved always saved". Once saved always saved says that you can't fall from God's grace and be lost. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:12 "He who stands take heed lest he falls." 1 Timothy 4:1 says "Some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." The seducing spirits and doctrines of devils that Paul talks about are the lies of Satan. By looking at these two passages it is obvious to see that falling away from God is something that we have to be careful of. Why would God warn us about falling from grace if we can never lose our salvation?
Premillenialism is something we hear about quite often, but do we really understand what it really is. Premillenialist believe that Jesus came to earth to establish an earthly kingdom but being rejected and crucified by the Jews he set up the church as a substitute and will come again to set up an earthly kingdom in Jerusalem to reign for 1000 years. After this reign there will be a judgment. All of this is false and a figment of man's imagination. This is completely contradictory to everything that the Bible says. The false doctrine of premillenialism infers that God is not all knowing in that He didn't know that Christ was rejected and crucified. The idea of premillenialism has man overcoming God's purpose. If God failed in His purpose for Christ the first time, why would he not fail the second time? 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens and will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up." When the Lord comes again the earth is going to be destroyed. There isn't going to be an earth left for the Christ to reign on. Once again God's word disproves another lie of Satan.
Another lie of Satan's is that infants are born into sin and must be baptized to be saved. This again is a contradiction of God's word. Ezekiel 18:20 says "The soul that sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor shall the father bear the guilt of the son." Here God says that children do not inherit sins from their father. Each person is responsible for his own sin. 1 John 3:4 states "Whoever commits sin, commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness." As you can see from this passage sin is something that is committed and not inherited. How is sin committed? In James 1:14 & 15 we read "Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed, then when lust is conceived, it brings forth sin and sin when it is finished brings forth death. How can a child be drawn away and be enticed by sinful lust?
One error leads to another. Men say since infants have inherited the sin of Adam, they must be baptized or they will be lost. Not only are infants not lost but they are not suitable candidates for baptism, since they can't believe. Jesus says in Mark 16:16 "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved". Here we see belief as one of the prerequisites for baptism, which is impossible for an infant to do. Another prerequisite is repentance. The apostle Peter told a group of people "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins" How is it possible for an infant to believe or repent? Can an infant repent? It would be absurd to think an infant could believe or repent, but it is just as absurd to think an innocent infant, who is without sin, must be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, which he does not have.
Sprinkling And Pouring - Is another lie of Satan. Our word "baptize" is transliterated
