The Most Stunning Beach In The United States

Siesta Key Beach is the most visually stunning beach in the United States.  It is located in Siesta Key, Florida, along the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota County.  It is very popular among families and singles alike, and is thought of and voted as the best beach in the US.  Siesta Key Beach is my favorite place to visit because it excites my senses.

The beach is wide, long, flat, very clean and perfect for families and couples because of the picnic, concession and playground areas.  I notice the clear blue sky, the sparkling water and the stunning, pure white quartz sand first.  This sight fills me with anticipation and excitement.  I feel free and think immediately how I want to run into the water, seemingly much farther away than it really is.  I also see towering palm trees and seagulls hovering over the nearby concession stands, waiting to swoop down and pick up leftovers from the beach-goers.  Walking past the food area, I start to listen and I hear laughter amidst the conversations.

Gazing around the beach, it is very crowded, but as the day progresses, I know I will find an open spot on the sand.  Usually, the beach fills up early in the day and maintains a large crowd into the late afternoon.  In the distant background I hear the waves crashing against the shoreline, children and adults running through sand and water, playing together.  In the evening, when the beach has emptied and I can relax more, I

enjoy the sounds of the evening, and the waves crashing against the sand lull me into a relaxed state of mind.  The waves sound different in the evening than they do during the day with the beach full of people.  It makes me forget all my problems and stresses.

Walking on the beach barefoot, the light, powdery sand cushions my feet pleasantly.  Siesta Key Beach is unique because it has sand that is a very special white sand made out of quartz.  It stays nice and cool to the touch, even when it is hot outside.  It is also incredibly soft when touched.  Lying on this sand, I do not even need a beach towel, it is incredibly luxurious.  It feels as if I am on a cloud.

Getting in the ocean water, I am slightly chilled.  After the initial shock of the water’s temperature, it is easy to warm up though, even in December.  Swimming in the crystal clear water, I can catch and touch the incredibly agile little minnows swimming at my feet.  Swimming in the ocean is very pleasant, and there is a pleasing freshwater, oceanic scent.  The ocean breeze smells cool and refreshing too.  This ocean scent and the smells of the food on the grill is what makes the beach so revitalizing for me.  The smell of the food is strongest away from the beach.  I smell french fries, hot dogs, burgers and other cheesy comfort foods.  All these enticing scents align perfectly with the positive energy of the overall beach atmosphere.
