After giving birth to Miriam Rachel dies on a sinking ship, witch forces Nehusta to flee to land and when she reaches land she takes Miriam to be raised as her mother requested.
After finding a village of only men that believe that
The influence of women is not one to be around, after some persuasion from "nou" they agree to shelter the girl until the age of 17, at witch they will have to find refuge again.
During her time spent in this village, Miriam undergoes several trials, like a man by the name of Caleb, her childhood playmate proclaims his love for her she never is the same again.
When a roman officer called Marcus comes to the village to investigate the murder of a roman soldier,
A roman soldier who was in fact killed by caleb during a robbery of the village by a roman military group.
She faces having to live with the secret love for Marcus forever until he proclaims his love for her and eventually they get married.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has some understanding of believing in God.
I find it very inspiring in the fact that she can face so many trials and still coming out loving God.
