The Pieces Presented
The ballet itself was a masterpiece of art. To summarize the whole UADC Spring Concert in one page might be a little challenging , but certainly possible.
"Bits and Pieces"
This was the first piece performed and it was ballet, The music playing related to each act , such as buzzing noises like a bumblebee to the act "Bumble Bit". The costumes were simple dresses with solid colors which swayed with their slow movement. Overall, other audience viewers agreed that this act was very pretty and classical, but a quite bit boring.
"Common Ground"
This act was spunky and creative. The choreography was unique with upbeat music. The dancers outfits consisted of cute outfits, for example, over sized men's dress shirts while dancing barefoot. These costumes were original and fun. I couldn't decide whether they were modern dancing, or ballet.
"Coral Reefs"
2007's style of music has hit the stage with ballet. Known band Fall Out Boy , Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Linkin Park were the songs chosen to dance to choreography by Andrew Carroll. I was sitting there thinking the type of dance would be jazz, my favorite, but it was ballet, just hip. They moved their feet to the beat of the songs. The costumes were very pretty and were glistening on stage. I believe in this one they looked a little like leaves as its length cut off at the knee.
"Ladies Night"
My favorite act was this performance. The costumes were individually expressing each one's personality and style. The choreography looked like it was from a movie. . The props were set up as nightclub scene. Their were a couple tables with dancers, and a huge dance floor. Their was a girl and guy lead in this act. The music chosen was perfect, because it went right along with their nightclub image, and sharp jazz moves.
" Words ,Music and the 7 Dirty Words"
The opening act was a recording of a mans voice speaking. I think this act was dancing in ballet. These acts were pretty good for the end finale, although it could have been a little more fun. The scenery in this act was more elaborate than the
