The use ethical of Animal in Psychology research
There are several reasons why animals are used in psychological research. However, these reasons involve both pros and cons. One of these reasons is to save the humans from being hurt and to limit their suffering during the experiments. On the other hand, it is harmful and painful to the animals. For example, when they put the animals in the labs, they inject with strong drugs, or does the surgery practice on them. Sometimes, they are injured or even killed in during the experiment. Using humans in the experiments is very complicated and required to have consent from these people that makes it hard to use humans.
Since animals and humans are very similar and sometimes have the same organs, it is good when researchers use animals when determining whether the medicines are safe for humans to use or not. Doing so is to save lives of a person because no drugs can be tested on human is the most reason for using the animals in the psychological research . rather than humans and is acceptable by the law. Using humans could be requires too much of things which includes but not limited to (1) consent of the participants, full description of the process and machines that will be used in the experiment, and also the maximum risks of the experiment. This means that the researchers must explain every single detail about the experiment. So, it is easier for researchers to use animals in the experiments because consents from animals are not necessarily important and the life a human is worth more than life of animals even though the pain might be the same for the human being.
Moreover, even though researchers use the animals instead of humans, pain and harm should also be considered to them also. Even though, using these animals is very important to us understanding that they are going through a lot of pains and sometimes even deaths. These are the living organisms that researchers are killing. They have feelings and pains. They can also suffer psychologically. It is awful to use these in the labs knowing that they can feel the same pain as humans.
