The Value of Leadership

In being an effective leader there are certain qualities that a person must have to take on a leadership position. A person character is key whether they would be a good leader or not. They can have integrity but it depends upon the actions in which one takes that would make them a great leader. If the leader's actions and intentions are in the people best interest then we would want him to remain our leader because he is not only looking out for him, but his people as well.

Leadership is not a talent but it's a choice that is he made because he learned from his mistakes. He was a military man who was in charge of his troops. He did let his make their own decisions but he did micromanage to a certain extent. He wanted his troops to know that he trusted them and respected them as individuals. They lost some wars and one some wars but no matter what his troops respected him. His awareness of what could happen to his troops if he did not do what was told, or put his life at jeopardy for his troops showed that he was a man of virtue.

People do not have to be extremely smart to be a leader because this man surrender his self around people who were smarter than him. He became a public figure not because he wanted to it was because his leadership was needed. He was not afraid to ask for advice. After he heard from the opinions of his parties he made his own decisions. In his decisiveness he understood that he had to make tough decisions because it came with his job. He knew that certain situations called for him to make decisions in a timely fashion. Everyone did not agree but it was his decision to make for the best interest of people.

Extraordinary leaders do not hesitate to make firm decisions and stick to what they believe to be the right choice. They also know when to collaborate with their team to make the best decisions. People did not understand why he did not choose to take sides with the allies, but he knew the reason for taking the stance he did for people. This is one of the reasons why he is exceptional as a leader. He is in a class all by himself. Empathy was genuinely showed toward the people with decisions he made. He took a challenge and change it to a long term solution.

He refused to put people at risk because they were weak and needed time to get there strength back. When people realized this they respected him more because it was not about making a name for himself it was the love he had for the people.
