The Wedding
To describe my informant it would take the full 5 pages of this Mini-ethnography, so I won't go into too much detail. My informant was my Mother, Sylvia Flores, and I talked to her about her wedding and how it differed from other weddings, in general and culturally as she is Mexican and my Father is Puerto Rican. Although I couldn't really get that much information from her, what I did find out was most interesting. Her wedding should be in the category of Life History because this event that she describes is part of her life's past and part of a tradition that most people hold.
Like all ethnographies there are steps that must be completed in order to have a finished ethnography. Step number one should consist of a consent form, which is a document that the researcher and the researched must sign in order to make an official ethnography. The consent from explains exactly what will be going on and the participant rights. Step two is the scheduling of the interviews or designated researching times. Also in step two one must develop potential questions that one might ask the informant. Step four is actually gathering all the data and information that you have collected through research and interviews. Finally, there is step five which is actually putting all of your information together in essay format and correcting all of the mistakes.

I had asked her, "What kind of wedding did you want? Traditional or Non-traditional?" She stated that she didn't really care if her wedding was more traditional American of traditional Mexican; she just wanted to get married. She did have the normal traditional items though; such as a full time practitioner, which is commonly known as a priest conduct her wedding.
