To E or Not to E?

In this case, Dagney Taggert is faced with the obstacle of convincing her crew that web 2.0 online capabilities are the future of business. Taggert was able to transform RightTrade from the brochure web model stage into a web package geared towards day traders that revenues $70 million annually. The current model worked in the past but is in need of updating. Taggert’s main objective is to achieve a web 2.0 status for RightTrade.

With Stocknet already preparing such software, Taggert knows that she must launch correctly the first time or there will not be a second chance.

Taggert has currently only been allowed 2.5 million and the launch is to cost 5 million. RightTrade just lost one of its young CEO’s working on the project. The VP’s of Rightrade disagree with spending more money and would rather focus on their core customers. The chief technical officer does not want to continue spending funds without a test project.

Taggert is faced with the issue of overcoming the budget either with a successful pilot project or a convincing argument, most likely with statistical representation. Taggert has to show the heads that this initial investment will continue to increase their stocks. The future of business is more heavily reliant on the internet everyday. RightTrade must realize this before it loses its notable hold on the day trading market.

Upon review of this case, it is factually proven that the internet has improved business. The business model is ever changing. The complexity of this changing model forces us to change the way we do business. Taggert must convince her staff that what use to work in the past could possibly leave them bankrupt in the future. She could do this by using a convincing pilot or quite possibly researching business’s success upon improving their internet capabilities.
