Government should spend more money on universities education or primary school?

Education plays one of the most important roles to achieve success in the future life, so people today are enthusiastic and go through fierce competition to enter the university. There is more demand and expectation of people toward government funding, considering the importance of university education. Nonetheless, if government are spending more money on university education, it will not be fair for every citizen in the country. Instead, primary school provides equal and compulsory education for every child. Thus, I firmly support the idea that the government should spend more money on primary school for the following reasons.

To begin with, taxes are collected from the citizens to ensure the stability of the society so that everyone has to get merits and fair treatment from the country. Specifically, supporting money one the university is not as efficient as supporting the primary school due to the fact that only certain people, who are wealth enough to pay the tuition and willing to last their academic career, will be able to acquire the merits. In contrast to the university education, people will be able to get the same and equal education from the government through the primary education, which is the original purpose of the collection of the taxes. This is also shown in the research that more than 60% of Korean Parents are willing for the taxes to be spent for their children’s education. This is because after university students graduate, they will ultimately find their jobs, or at least do the part-time job. On the other hand, 10-year-old child, there is no way for them to earn money so that keeping good education for young children could be burdensome for the parents. Thus, it is more fruitful to spend more money one the primary education.

Secondly, high quality education in primary schools will prepare children to be well-equipped and well-cultured; this will definitely contribute to development and stability of the society. If people do not have enough money for their children to go to the primary school, it is definitely a big loss of a country’s future because they are the next generation of the country’s future. Moreover, it is primary school’s job to help children find their interests. To be more specific, children would not know what they want to be in the future. 12 of primary school years are not enough for the children to acknowledge their interest and concentrations. Accordingly, by having diverse education systems supported by the government, it virtually gives a chance to all of the students equally to have a better and wider conception towards the world.
