In this project analysis described in this paper, it is based on a case study titled 'The spring breaks 'R' us travel service booking system. The travel service books trips for those who are college students only. In autumn some of the resorts will send availability information which tells us what rooms are available, the room capacity, and the pricing for weeks during Spring break season. Each one of these resorts will offer a booking for a certain number of weeks each of the seasons, as well as room rates judging by what week it is. As an unwritten rule the resorts will make a list of various rooms with different capacity capabilities to be available so the students are able to get rooms according to the size they are in need of.
During the month of December the travel service will also generate a list of all resorts, the available weeks, as well as room rates and distribute them to the campuses all over the country. When a student makes a reservation for a particular place during a specific week the travel service then registers the student to a room then gives the student a letter confirming that the reservation has been set. When the time comes to stop taking reservations, the travel service then sends their resort clients the names of the booked reservations. Once the student arrives they will then pay the resort for the required reservations time frame. The resort in turn pays a small fee to the travel service via accounts payable (Satzinger, Jackson, & Burd, 2009).
The information gathering technique used is obtaining information from resorts that include geographical locations such as Tampa FL, or Chicago IL., Pricing rates that include fees for more than one person or a possible pet, availability of the room for particular weeks beginning and ending dates, amenities such as Wi-Fi, breakfast, in room bar, laundry facilities, and then there's the statistics for that area such as has 9 restaurants, estimated crime rate of 96percent, ABC movie theatres, and public transportation.
The other part of the information gathering technique is to be in touch with all college and university representatives. This allows for advertisement to let them inform the students of the resources available to help them plan a vacation and or a spring break celebration. The methods of advertising includes brochures and flyers, a web site, a toll free line to call, a business card to hold on to the contact for easy use.
