Tuition for College

Education these days is very costly. Although scholarships are awarded, the amount to go to college is still very high. I think paying thirty thousand dollars for one year is a little steep. If we pay that much money to get an education, why are our dormitories so terrible? How come there is never any hot water when I take a shower? Why doesn't the school provide fun things to do in the town of Henniker? Why is the quality of food served at Gilmore so bad? Why aren't there paper towels in the bathrooms? Where is our money going? I hear these questions frequently being asked around campus and I am beginning to wonder myself.
My thoughts before coming to college were that a college education would help get a better job for myself and be wealthy. Right now it seems like I will be paying for college the rest of my life. Even if I do get a good paying job. Is our education really worth the money? Why not start making money right when you get out of high school? I know most students go over this question after high school. I, myself, feel that knowledge is power. "I know nothing (Socrates)." Socrates was the smartest man in the world because he always wanted to learn new things. I chose to go to college so I could try to do the same, but I am not trying to pay almost one hundred thousand dollars to do it.
I feel that the most kids who have come to New England College are kids who didn't take high school seriously.
