The real daughter of the farmer died long ago. Undine was only the substitude for her. Her new parents christened her undine.

From now the knight is Undines groom. Later a priest comes in and has to give them his blessing. Undine goes outside of the house and gives the knight a nice ring. The next day she tells him about elementary beings and that she is one. He isn't angry about that and brings her back to the house.

The priest, Undine and the kight leave the farmer and go into the wood. In the wood they see KÑŒhleborn who is driven away by the knight. In the town Undine tells Bertalda that she isn't the daughter of the king. Undine tells her that she is the daughter of the farmer.

Undine, the knight and Bertalda leave the town and go to the castle Ringstetten. It's a nice castle with a well in it's middle. Undine tells the workers to close the well. Bertalda means that that isn't right and tells the knight about it but he says that it is a good idea to close the well because of KÑŒhleborn.

One day they make a trip to the donau. There Bertalda looses her necklace. The knight is very angry about that and when Undine gives her a new one he gets really mad. That is to much for her and she leaves them. She goes into the donau. Now the knight is sad of what he had done. But it's too late.
