Defined, vindicated means: "to clear of accusation, blame, suspicion, or doubt with supporting arguments or proof". The person in this song wishes merely for redemption from his mistakes. At the beginning of "Vindicated", the singer tells about his hopes for redemption. How he was even "mesmerized" by this. In the chorus, it states: "I am selfish, I am wrong. I just honestly love every little aspect of this song. From the melody, to the lyrics - I just adore everything. Like, how the song flows just right. Or how the guitarist is possibly the most talent acoustic players around. Dashboard Confessional is off-the-charts amazing.

When I found this song, I instantly stopped. This was my life, exactly. I can relate to every word from this song. Ever since then, "Vindicated" has become a part of me. And it seems like everyday, my life fits more and more to this song. Not only that, but it's also helped me realized that I can't always be wrong. And I shouldn't blame myself for every little thing that happens - I have
