Conducting Successful Library and Internet Searches
Since this is a survival guide then it should be composed of what I think could make me successful and what I have learned about the above topic is relatively simple. I have been searching on the Internet for years and it is the best way to conduct any search, but there is an example you must follow. Let me give you some I follow.
Make your life easier right away by learning how your library is organized. All libraries have certain areas in common. Start with a road map, (Reference Area, Book Area, and Periodicals Area). The most successful and time saving library research involves following a specific search strategy a step by step method for finding information that takes you from general to specific sources.(Week2 reading2[1]IT105)
When I conduct searches, I always know exactly what I am looking for and make sure the spelling is correct. Most times people make mistakes in there spelling and have a hard time finding what they are looking for. I have used the online library for Axia and found it most useful especially if used correctly. So when I conduct my library/internet searches I will always make sure my spelling is correct and know what I want to find to make my time spent researching profitable.
Upholding Academic Honesty
Plagiarism, appropriating someone else's creative work as one's own without crediting the source. This is a bad thing to do but it is practiced daily because people tend to not do proper research and don't have enough of there own so they use someone else's work without giving them credit. However, I will not fall into this practice because I will always keep track of someone else work I cite. It is simple to follow just give credit where credit is due.
