What do you usually do during a hard exam? Why a sudden thought? Well, it is given and widely known that Engineering is a very critical degree program, so it is inferred that major exams or even quizzes in major subjects are hard. Hard may be an understatement, so I must say it is brain-squeezing.

Truth be told; because of this, students may sometimes ran out of idea, techniques of formulae to be used. Usually, hard examinations were allocated an hour or a whole period to be finished. We can’t deny the fact that we often or sometimes experience this set up. Now, to utilize the given time, what do you usually do? Oh let me rephrase my query. What have you discovered from yourself during times like this? Are you a doodle fighter? A calcu analyst ? or what? This article will help you find your hidden personality.

Below are 10 different personalities base on your habits during your exams. Find yours.

  1. Doodle fighter – they are the ones who repeatedly traces the given figures. If they get tired of it, they write or draw random things on a scratch paper with matching frowning face. Then, voila ! with that facial expression, who would not think that you’re too focused on your exam?
  2. Calculator Analyst – they make rituals with their calculators during  exams(e.g. rotating it on their hands, turning it on and off, making words in it.)
  3. Head turner – they literally turn their heads to different sides when they feel confused with the items to see if their classmates are able to answer.
  4. Shy type – When your teacher looks at you,it creeps you out making you bow  your head, uses calculator immediately, and pretend answering; a scenario like accidentally meeting your crush in the lobby, your eyes met, you bow your head, gets your phone an pretend texting. It’s all because you’re a shy type of person.
  5. Simple guy/ Simple girl – they use simple tricks like dropping calculators down, making its downfall parallel or perpendicular to the target’s seat. When they bow down to get their calculators, they simply look at the target’s answers.
  6. Cool kid – “Why frustrate yourself? You can’t answer? Then don’t answer. Keep calm and stay cool.” Next thing; puts earphones on, sleep, wait for the bell, stand and pass the paper. That’s the cool kid.
  7. Angelic – They pray when it’s getting hard and no matter what, they chose to stick with their own answers with no special tricks done.
  8. The writer – They don’t want to waste the ink of their pens so they rewrite the items from the test paper or books into their answer sheet. What an idea!
  9. Lastic Man – Students, just like a rubber band, has the property of elasticity most especially in our necks. The neck elongates and I know you knew what’s next. Walastik !
  10. Jeepney Passengers – They relay pieces of papers to the next person,  then to another person until it reach the driver, I mean the target receiver. These persons got plenty of bills, only bills. They don’t have coins? What a rich passenger!

Now you might be laughing in your head thinking that you fall in one, two or more personalities above. Personalities which were not too pleasant. This is not intended to degrade nor judge students’ ability but nowadays, this is a sad reality. Students as we are, we make fun out of this because it’s undeniably funny. Often times, we don’t do good in our exams. We idle, we lost foci. Why? Because we did not well prepared, so our last resort? Cheating.  If not all, most of us are guilty of cheating, may it be frequent or seldom. We don’t want to fail. We don’t want to hurt our ego. We find things hard. We want it easy, so we cheat .We never thought of the results of it. We just went with it. Failing hurts but passing without understanding is empty. What if someone asks you about a lesson you’ve already undergone? It’s a shame in your part if you can’t recall a single thing or two, right?. However, this is a case to case basis. “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently” says Henry Ford. Failure exists for some cause,  one is to teach us actually.
