What Is Globalization?

What is globalization? Some people who oppose it really don’t know what it is or what it does. Many have incorrect evidence against globalization. But before I argue my point I’ll explain what globalization is all about. Globalization is the integration of economic, political and cultural systems across the world (globalization101). Critics say that’s it Americanization forces for economic growth, exploitation of developing countries and suppression of human rights. My thesis is that globalization is misunderstood by many but factual evidence shows that its good for the economy and developing countries. The word globalization also describes the neoliberal form of economic globalization or internationalization. Internationalization is the importance of international trade, relation and treaties, etc. Even in international trade globalization is due to North American businesses. According to Thomas L. Freidman, he argues that globalized trade, outsourcing and political forces has changed the world permanently for good and bad (#5 TLF). One question that critics claim ask is does globalization cause poverty? Many answer that globalization has weakened the position of poor countries and exposed poor people to harmful competition. But my argument is that globalization brings on tremendous growth by raising incomes, creating jobs and reducing prices. Globalization for developing countries increases economic opportunity. The theory of comparative advantage allows free trade to move more efficient resource with all countries benefitting. This could raise the standard of living in developing countries. The word Neoliberals promotes a competitive

market, private ownership and free trade. You put all these together and this formula brings economic growth and assumes to end money problems and poverty. Not everyone believes this, the term anti-globalization come from people who oppose the neoliberal form of globalization. They criticized the power of big nations for harming the environment, undermining the cultural and tradition of developing countries and limiting government’s sovereignty to determine labor rights. The ideology behind the movement advocates alternatives to neoliberal economic. They look to seek protest for world’s population and ecosystem from what believe are damaging effect of globalization. NGO is a movement group for human rights. The advocate for labor rights, environmentalism, feminism and freedom of migration. These groups has been protesting globalization
