Introduction
It is important to understand that all individuals may need help in some form or another throughout their life which will ultimately provide a since of guidance. The Human Service industry was established in order to provide assistance to individuals and offer different outcomes through varies programs they offer and addressing the problems via different methods and means in order to reach a positive solution.
The Human Services job is to address the different problems which many people are suffering from throughout our society, whether that means addiction to drugs of all kinds, depression, traumatic childhood, or just a family who needs assistance finding shelter and food. I'm not saying that Human Service specialist provide all the answer which will erase people's pain, but they do have the access and tools which they are able to utilized in order to assist those who may be dealing with hard times.

Human Services goal and mission is ensure that the needs of all individuals are met, whether those are key physical or emotional needs, or mental health needs which are not able to be handled alone. This concerns all individuals regardless of their age, race, or ethnicity, the interest is to enable them to live, work, and function in society. It is the belief of Human Service that if a person is provided a support system and encouragement, this will empower many individuals who other wise would have no hope and offer a since of strength of worth. Once an individual begins to think positively and becomes productive, it is then possible that they will confront and conquer difficult obstacles in their life. I believe that through support many people could become independent and manage stressful situations through positive solutions.
Human Services main focus is to assist deprived and less fortunate people by helping them meet basic needs in life. "The Human Services profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also by seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery" (Martin, 2007). It is important to the Human Service Profession to contribute to those individuals who find themselves in a difficult situation, and without the assistance of Human Services many of these needs would not be met. The foundation of Human services evolved because of concern for social difficulties which made it harder for people to meet their needs.
Therefore, they established certain standards which will guarantee efficient and ethnically capable care that would show progress. The role that Human service plays in every persons life is essential, the department is responsible for implementing policies, encourages independence, defends constitutional rights and fights for mental health research and training. This vital mission could only occur through established partnerships, such as state agencies, families, individuals, and communities.
The National Organization for Human Services (NOHS) describes human service profession in this manner, "The Human Service Profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery." Human Service is very broad and is comprise of many agencies and institutions; while generating different career opportunities for individuals. The one main constant of all the departments which make up the human service arena, is that their determined to help people meet basic emotional and physical needs. The qualified professional operates within the field of social or human services; with both possessing an extensive array of skills and a broad range of responsibilities that is needed in order to help individuals overcome an assortment of social issues.
There are several reasons why intervention is necessary and strategies put in place in order to assist those in need. These various concerns range from lack of family support, orphaned, friendless, lack of social network, and no community support. This is where the Human Services operation comes into play, because now individual's find themselves facing barriers and having difficulty meeting even basic needs. Many times this situation occurs because they do not have access to anything or anyone in their lives that cares or want to help. There are many people who are privileged and may never assistance from an organization such s human services, and if that is the case then those individuals should be willing to reach out and help those who are finding it difficult to survive in the society which we are living.
The custom of assisting others in times of need has been in existence since the beginning of time. The modern perspective which makes up the Human Services profession can be tracked back as far as the late 1800's which leads us to the social welfare system in England. Even though human services did not fully exist until the 1800s, the need and appeal to comfort others has always been present.
