What is plagrisim? Plagiarism means to mean when you steal someone exact words and simply copy and paste or handwritten them word for word without changing a word. I think that plagiarism is a problem in academic work because a student has a lot of pressure from the outside world as well as school life and it is just easier for them. Dealing with stress as well as peer pressure and they could also have problem at home that they cannot control but they have no option to leave so they have to suffer and listen to it. Bullying and name calling could also be an issue as well that can mess with the student self-esteem that could possibly lead to suicide you cannot tell from the inside.
You can avoid plagiarism by doing your research as well as use citations as well as paraphrase, quoting, citing quotes, citing our own material and referencing. Resources that are available are the library, internet but I would rely on that too much, encyclopedias. My overall take from this it is not worth it in the end because you will get caught and the consequences will be more severe than copying the words. You could possibly be expelled from college and you could have jail time and no one trusts a liar. Your social circle can suffer as well you might lose friends and family members over this and once you will lose my trust you might as well wipe your presence from my life.
