When the Wind Blows
This is the story of a government agency creating genetically altered humans for the purpose of creating the perfect weapon and the plight of a young woman out to help an escapee from the laboratory.
Frannie is living all alone, grieving for her dead husband, when a mysterious FBI agent shows up at her doorstep. Then Frannie sees a flying girl, and gets caught up in a mysterious, deadly secret.
FBI agent Kit Harrison and veterinarian Frannie O'Neill are an awkward match at first, but team up for some strange investigation. Fran searches to solve the mysterious murder of her husband, while Kit battles with the deaths of his wife and children. Max changes all their lives while helping both Kit and Frannie through their own personal issues. Max is an eleven year old child who shows up in the woods near Fran's animal hospital. With the help of Max, Kit and Frannie reveal the truth of horrific, scientific experimentation. Out of it has come unspeakable tragedy as well as something so beautiful it boggles the minds of Kit and Frannie.
Frannie goes and comforts her friend after her husband's death. She gets drunk and sees a girl with wings and thought she was hallucinating. Frannie meets an FBI agent and ends up falling in love with him. The girl with wings was not a hallucination. She is hiding from her uncle and scientists who murder anybody. FBI agent Kit Harrison helps solve the problem that the scientists were doing illegal experiments.
As far as his books usually are this was a little bit of a let down, I didn't think it was that exciting and the plot was kind of lagging.
