Whole foods specializes in organic and natural products. It is the niche that made WFM so successful. The variety of products offered range from produce, to seafood and even natural health and skin care products. A leader in the market if grew through merger and acquisition a strategy that helped WFM eliminate its competition, but the Organic and Natural food industry has been growing for years in the double digits "...can be a profitable, sustainable business for those producers interested in going through the certification process necessary to enter this market. Organics have grown at a rate of nearly 20 percent per year for the last seven years, and industry experts are forecasting continued growth. If Walt-Mart decided to have a complete natural and organic section; Lower prices, store proximities, and one stop shop convenience will definitely hurt WFM customer basis. Wal-Mart offers an unmatched accessibility to health food stores. Safeway Trader Joe's and other would truly pay the price of allowing Giant Box store enter their market.
