Ever since George Washington‘s two terms as the first president of the United States, our country has held an election every four years. There has been a total of 43 presidents and Hillary Clinton should be the 44th. Not only would she be the first female president, but as an individual that has devoted more than 30 years to public service she has many ideas to make our country great. These ideas include addressing the obstacles of racial and LGBT justice, climate change, economy and taxes, drug and alcohol addiction.
Hillary advocates to break down all the racial and LGBT barriers that hold Americans back and build ladders of opportunity for all people so that every child in America can live up to his or her God-given potential. Whether it is in school, jobs, online, or any aspect of society, everyday citizens are discriminated for their sexuality and beliefs. “Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights.” Hillary said during a speech back in 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland to mark International Human Rights day.
Hillary wants to make climate change legislation that will generate enough renewable energy to power every home in America, with half a billion solar panels installed by the end of her first term; cut energy waste in American homes, schools, hospitals and offices by a third; make American manufacturing the cleanest and most efficient in the world; reduce American oil consumption by a third through cleaner fuels and more efficient cars, boilers, ships, and trucks.
Although Donald J. Trump is a wealthy man, that does not mean the people paying taxes are. “We need to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those on top.” Hilary stated enough for it to be the title of her presidential website on issues regarding financial issues. Parenting, working, and being an individual in general can be very high-priced. For parents to succeed at home and at work, Hillary as president will update the outdated laws and make sure they match how families work today, and provide relief to those who suffer from rising cost of needed things like child-care requirement and housing. As well as the goal to provide Americans with excellent retirement and health cares, Hillary shows a lot of benefit to the family-orientated and the elderly.
Drug and alcohol addiction is a real thing. Over 23 million Americans suffer from a substance disorder
