Leadership is an important key in ruling a nation. Rulers need to have good character when ruling or their empire may suffer. Some needing traits when ruling are being determined, good planning, taking risks, being popular with the people, and being persuasive.
Martin Luther king Jr. led the civil rights movement with determination. Determination is a fixed movement toward an object or end. He was determined to help the African Americans get there rights and did just that until the day he died. If a leader is determined he can go a long way.
Julius Ceaser was a popular ruler. People liked him, and which made it easy for him to rule. If you make your people happy they will like you and as a result you will become popular. Along with this is being positive like Ceaser. If a leader doesn't believe in what he is doing then nether will his people.
Emperor Wen had to rebuild and empire. While doing this he had to take many risks. A risk is the possibility of suffering harm or loss; danger. A ruler must take risks sometimes because in may benefit for the country. Emperor wen took a risk by building the great wall although many people died his empire was protected from invasions.
Good planning is another good trait to have. Using tactics like building the great wall is a way of great planning. The leader would also use planning when building when building cities to protect them from harm. Alexander the Great conquered much of the known world at that time because he used good planning. He knew when to attack his enemies.
Lastly being persuasive helps. If a ruler can persuade people to believe then in what there doing it will help your cause. Adolph Hitler was a terrible man but a good leader. He got people to believe him because he was persuasive. He wasn't honest or just, but he was so persuasive, that people believed him.
Ruling is a very hard task to do; being a good ruler is even harder. In this day and age the number of good rulers is shrinking, because people are becoming selfish. That is why a good leader is recognized by his people, and also in the great future.
