A Nazi death camp a terrifying place full of horror and death, especially for a child. Elie Wiesel a young Jewish boy faces the fears of the death camp. From witnessing the deaths of his family to the death of his god Elie's life is turned upside down. In the book Night a memoir by Elie Wiesel, he shows you the terror of life in concentration camp.

In this memoir you see how the life of this young Jewish boy changes dramatically. When German Soldiers first arrive the soldiers are pretty much accepted but when he is taken from his home of Sighet everything changes for him and his family. Elie at first is very religious, as days pass Elie starts doubting and losing faith in his religion. Asking himself why is it that he prays when his god has yet to help him. After being separated from his mother and sisters he must be strong and survive with only his father by his side.

When the German soldiers arrived at Sighet the people's first impression were "reassuring" and "polite". But when their leaders get arrested everything changed. Elie at this point says that the "race toward death had begun". The people were no longer allowed out of their houses, and then the soldiers came in and took all the gold and everything of value. Forced to wear the yellow star and separated into ghettos Elie and his family continue their life till they receive the news of deportation. Life In The camps was about to begin.

At The start of this memoir Elie is very religious and interested in the cabbala. His belief in god was strong but as you read you'll see this all changes. The first time you notice this is when his father is praying Elie says "For the first time, I felt revolt rise up in me. Why should I bless His name? The Eternal, Lord of the Universe, the all powered and Terrible, was silent. What had I to thank him for?" Elie has chosen not to pray. He goes from a believer to a non-believer. By the end of the story Elie never mentions whether his view have changed.

Throughout their time in the camp in the story there are certain points where Elie wants to stop but the thought of leaving his father alone worried him. While in the concentration camp Elie and his father stick together and fight to survive. We see how Elie helps his father through the struggles. Many times where his father wanted to quit Elie would always help him fight through
