I have always been fascinated with travel. Ever since I was a little kid I have always enjoyed visiting exotic places and seeing exotic things. The historical/cultural significance of some of these places tends to vex my curiosity in a special way.
Throughout my life, I have only left the continental United States twice; to Mexico and to Hawaii. Although I have only left the country twice, I have visited roughly 40 of its 50 states. Our country (as well as our state) is an exceptionally vast place with many different things to see and many different things to learn. I have not at all yet been limited in scope. Some of the places in this country that stand out in my mind as being exceptionally beautiful are the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the waterfalls and reefs of Maui, and the Ancient redwood trees of Yellowstone National Park. Some of the more historical places that stand out in my mind are Gettysburg, The Alamo, Mesa Verde, Washington DC and the naval museum at Pensacola. Some of the more entertaining things I have done while traveling are fishing in Arkansas, climbing mountains in Colorado, tubing in the Guadalupe, snorkeling in Hawaii and hiking in New Mexico's deserts.
Though I have done/seen all of these things, I yearn to do much more. I have very limited international experience. My little experience with international sightseeing has yielded me much, and I can only hope that there will be more. When I get older I would like to visit as many different European, Asian and African countries as I can. I want to see things such as the ancient European battlefields, the vast savannahs of Africa, the stupendous Great Wall, the ancient Egyptian pyramids and the holy places in Israel. These are only a few of many places that I desire to visit. There are so many more, that it is only limited by your imagination.
My hopes of traveling as well as my memories of these different places I've seen will never die. I have and always will be fascinated by anything and anyplace that holds any significance.
