CAST AWAY celebrates the idea that no matter how many obstacles are thrown in our paths, we will find ways to accept them. The story is not so much about the survival of a human being, but rather the survival of the human spirit and an illustration of the idea that surviving is easy, Hanks stars as Chuck Noland, a FedEx systems engineer whose personal and professional life are ruled by the clock. His fast-paced career takes him, often at a moment's notice, to far-flung locales and away from his girlfriend Kelly, played by Helen Hunt. Chuck's manic existence abruptly ends when, after a plane crash, he becomes isolated on a remote island cast away into the most desolate environment imaginable. Stripped of the conveniences of everyday life, he first must meet the basic needs of survival, including water, food and shelter. Chuck eventually figures out how to sustain himself physically. After four years, fate gives Chuck a chance to fight his way back to civilization, only to find an unexpected emotional challenge greater than all the earlier physical it is about the price he must pay - he gains his soul but loses his love. A man consumed by time in his own day-to-day life gets into a major plane crash, leaving him stranded alone on an island. The movie basically follows his journey as he attempts to survive and escape the lonely clutches of island life.

The director's primary aim is to teach the viewers is not to ever give up on their dreams, and with determination everything is possible in this life, and it shows in the movie that Chuck puts everything to use in his survival efforts in order for him to go back home to see the love of he's life , in witch is the #1 motivation for him to live.

The island is a establishing shot used by the Director Robert Zemecking to influence the film. CAST AWAY is really about finding your way home whether that means physically or emotionally casting away all of the layers that complicate who we are in this world and rediscovering the things in life that really matter in life .in this case what matters for Chuck is to find the way to go back home so he can be with the love of he's life. The writer William Broyles capture the mood of the movie after four years Chuck has a chance to fight his way back to civilization, only to find an unexpected emotional challenge greater than all the earlier physical ones. His ability to persevere and to hope are a product of his life-changing experience .

The acting in the movie was excellent, After watching this movie I gain so much respect for Tom Hanks, It's one thing for an actor to triumph by playing off others; it's another thing altogether for him to excel with no one else around and virtually no dialogue to speak.
