Ethnic tourism is a kind of cultural activities, which is based on the national culture and national activities of a country or region as a resource for the service of domestic and foreign tourists. It will be the combination of traditional and modern, which has rich cultural heritage. In a broader perspective, it includes culture, heritage, anthropology, tribes, villages, and similar forms of tourism(Chhabra, 2012).It is an economic activity and also a cultural activity. Ethnic culture is a crystallization of the development of a nation’s history, containing extremely rich substances. The exploration of national tourism provides the ethnic district with a chance of economic prosperity; the ethnic tourism makes a contribution to the development of economy and society. Also, developing the national tour merchandise can advance the ethnic economy in terms the tour shopping market (Li, 2000). This essay supports the opinion that ethnic-tourism should be encouraged, by providing promoting cultural communication and improving the ethnic economy. Firstly and the most importantly, ethnic-tourism may have positive influences on the local culture, and the tourists can improve cultural communication. Secondly, from the point of local economic, data shows that ethnic-tourism usually brings about an improvement in income and in the process of achieving interests (Wu, 2015).

Ethnic tourism can contribute to cultural communication. Ethnic tourism is an effective way to spread the destination culture to the tourist source. Compared with other forms, this way has a unique advantage. According to the ethnic tourism disseminates culture, it is the purpose of the tourists to travel, and the visitors' pleasure is conducive to the acceptance of foreign culture in the journey.Ethnic tourism is a significant trend in present world tourism. Many tourists themselves are the purpose of understanding the destination culture as a tourist destination (Xiao-jing,2002). According to the survey, Britain, the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Australia and other countries of the visitors, it is no doubt that they understand the local culture and lifestyle as one of the three major ethnic tourism motivation. Especially the international ethnic tourism, the vast distance, the cost is higher, it is not optional.Tourists are more or less interested in the culture of a destination; They have a curiosity about the destination culture, it is evident that they hope to be able to experience the exotic culture atmosphere, or want to understand a culture through tourism, and even some of the experts and scholars. No matter what, international tourists want to be able to understand this foreign culture in the process of tourism(Li, 2008). According to the survey, foreigners interested in Chinese tourism resources accounted for the top three are: the landscape occupies 53.4%, the cultural relics, and historical sites occupy 47.1%, the folk custom amorous feelings occupy 27.6%, the latter two is obviously the carrier of Chinese culture.Compared with the economic, political, and other means of communication, the communication mode of tourism reflects the voluntary. Ethnic tourism can be all-around, multi - layer to understand the destination culture, promote cultural exchanges. Tourists in the tour will not only contact with a class of resources, tourism and often pass to the tourists of all aspects of information. Visitors enjoy not only a landscape but also includes rich and colorful lifestyle, from the material level to the ideological culture, at the same time, in the process, the hotel staff and tour guide of every hue, residents and other people undoubtedly enrich the understanding of tourists destination culture (Fagence, 2000).

It could be argued that ethnic tourism can promote cultural exchanges because most tourists have preconceptions about the value of the countries concerned and the idea of traveling abroad. Although they experience a lot of new feelings which may influence their ideas and evaluations, they are rarely willing to change their previous opinions. In other words, because of the cultural differences which exist these tourists may want to use these "preconceptions" to evaluate the journey, and their evaluation is an assessment of their cultural values. But, it is not possible to determine their feelings, the greater the contrast between the real feelings and psychological impression, the more likely it is to draw the attention of visitors. After all, seeing is believing, is more likely to convince people. In fact, it is because of the difference of culture which attracts foreign tourists, it is often not "preconceptions" affect their feelings, but through tourism changed their prejudices, to further promote the cultural exchanges. If "the United States is a professor: China and we imagine the different" in the University of Ohio, the delegation of four professors in China to visit the tour in Beijing has left a deep impression. Colonel Nota told reporters: "we see China, and we imagine completely different, we like China, but also like Beijing!" in China, some of the previous worries are not necessary to prove, Ethnic tourism is the way to change the idea with experience. Tourists are using travel experiences, rather than "preconceptions." Tourists face cultural exchanges in a calm and peaceful state of mind, and accept the information that they receive. In other words, the ethnic tourism has greatly promoted the cultural exchange (Yang & Wall, 2009).

Ethnic tourism can contribute to economic. As a unique way of traveling, the national tourism can increase the income of the tourist destination and provide the local people with the opportunity, and it can increase their personal income. Obviously, ethnic tourism is very popular with tourists. There are many places where there are many benefits from ethnic tourism, such as a popular tourist city: Mexico.1982 since the financial crisis (mainly due to the debt problem), the government of Mexico has introduced preferential policies for the development of ethnic tourism, especially the National Tourism economy. Now Mexico is one of the most popular tourist destinations. In 1999, 19 million tourists were traveling in Mexico, and in 2000, the number of visitors increased to 20 million 600 thousand. A growing number of visitors have brought economic benefits to Mexico. In 2000, reaching $8 million 300 thousand. Ethnic tourism creates at least 1 million 900 thousand jobs for locals, giving them a good chance to improve their personal income. Also, it contributed 8.9% to Mexico's GDP(Torres,2003).With the rapid development of ethnic tourism, especially in the ethnic tourism, the Mexico government has done many strategies to improve its competition in the world tourism. There is a festival called "the dead day" in Mexico. During that time, many tourists came from their country to attend the celebration. With the regular cost of caring for tourists, the government has the responsibility to rebuild the city's roads and streets. They advise families to rebuild their houses and accept more visitors. Now most of the families can provide rooms, catering, drinks for their guests. Everything seems to be getting better. This is a good situation to attract more tourists to go there (Gabucheva, 2014).
