Gladiator

In the first part of the movie Gladiator we saw and met the main character of the movie Maximus. We learn that he is an extraordinary fighter because he beat the Germans with his army. We also see the entire Roman army fighting the Germans. Maximus also has a wife and child. The emperor of Rome in this film is Marcus Aralias. His son wants and would become Emperor if Marcus had told him he is not giving him the throne. Out of anger he pretends to hug Marcus and strangles him to death. So he becomes emperor but out of jealousy he orders Maximus to be put to death. The executioners were going to behead him and Maximus says something like kill me like an honorable solder. So they go to stab the sword into the back of his neck and he catches the sword blow and ends up killing all of the executioners and the guards then escaped. Then it shows the person who ordered his death riding by horse back with other solders on their way to kill Maximuses wife and child. Then the last thing you see was maximus' son getting hit by the horses and a seen of Maximus falling off his horse then seeing his family in a flash back. Then he starts riding again and gets thrown off again by the horse.

There are a few things that very similar to our studies of Rome. Like the Roman army the carried spears with tall wooden shields. Also parts of the army were archers and shot thousands of flaming arrows that killed hundreds and hundreds of enemy solders. Also they had huge catapults that they shot projectiles filled with fuel and lit on fire so when they hit they explode. Also the war armor looks like it was explained.
