Written by Eric Nylund this book is the official prequel to the award winning Xbox game, Halo: Combat Evolved. Published by The Random House Publishing Group. Copyright 2001 Microsoft Corporation. A science fiction novel. Spartan-117 is the character of my choosing.
Spatran-117 (his real name is John, but you know him as the Master Chief) is so memorable because of his courageousness, intelligence, and attitude. He was one of many chosen to be a part of the Spartan-11 project in the year 2517. The project was to make an elite army of super soldiers. The recruits were chosen very carefully by the age of about six like the old Spartans. He was the most promising of all the students, with his outstanding battle tactics, and strategies, his amazing strength, and his great leadership. He has saved countless lives by protecting the whereabouts of Earth safe from the Covenant (an evil alien race bent on world domination and the destruction of the entire human race) and never loses his cool for a second no matter what it is, whether it be making an assault on an alien infested base, or having 20 guns pointed at his head, he never panics. From completing simple salvage missions to wiping out an army Spartan-117 will do it without a single drop of sweat.
The Master Chief influences me in many ways because his bravery is an inspiration to me. He has absolutely no fear and doesn't let anything get in the way of his objectives. He also always knows what to do in tight spots. He is a great leader he never leaves anybody behind. He has taught me many things, including to never runaway in fear, but to stand tall and face anything that threatens you. He has taught me many other things that I can hardly even put into words. Simply put he is just an amazing character.
