Home Depot is a retailing type company founded in 1938 headquartered at Atlanta Store Support Center, Cobb Country, Georgia, U.S, retailing home appliances, tools, hardware, lumber, building materials, and other household products including garden supplies and plants. According to Home Depot Inc. (2016), following are the researched strategic and financial objectives.
1) Strategic Objectives
a. One of the objective is on its services, goods, and pricing by providing high quality services, broad product selection in competitive pricing.
b. To involve in market development by applying through acquisitions, as it supports business growth by establishments of firms’ presence in new market segments, based on this intensive growth strategy. With reference to this growth strategy, its strategic objective is to continue acquiring firms to establish its strong presence in the market.
2) Financial Objectives
a. Based on the cost leadership, its financial objective is to make total sales of approx. $101billion sales in 2018
b. Operating margin of approximately 14.5 percent in 2018
Avon Products Inc. is a company formed by David H. McConnell in 1886 which basically does a direct selling of different beauty, household, and personal care categories (Avon Products Inc.).
1) Strategic Objectives
a. Change the reputation of the Avon Company globally by reaching the new market segments i.e. even the lower class customers. For this, choosing the exact only one product.
b. Promote its slogan “the company for woman” by selling its products to women, made by women.
2) Financial Objectives
a. To lower in single-digit in active representative growth and to lower in double-digit by adjusting operating margin.
b. Revenue grown in mid-single digit, operating margin in low double digit and cost savings of $400 million which will reach to working on “growth platforms” and improvements in organizational effectiveness.
