Hybrid Cars
The invention of hybrid cars has been a great benefit to everyone because it not only benefits people financially, but it also benefits our planet. Electrical vehicles help save people money on the increasing rate of gas, and helps save the planet from the smog that gas operated vehicles release. Many car companies have made their existing models or new models of a hybrid car because of the great demand for them. There are many different makes and models, of hybrid cars, that customers can choose from to fit their needs. In this survey I found that the Toyota Prius was the top ranked hybrid car with the Chevy Volt in second. The top three ranked attributes that are important to customers include affordability, safety, and inexpensive to repair. The top three attributes that would make their ideal hybrid car include reliability, safety and affordability. The brand of car that came closet to being the ideal hybrid car was the Hyundai Sonata. All the cars, expect the Toyota Prius, came close to being the ideal hybrid car. The Hyundai Sonata was at the top because it had the highest ranking when it came to being reliable and safe. There is an opportunity of repositioning the Toyota Prius. Although it was the top ranked hybrid car, according to the survey, it was not considered to be the ideal hybrid car. The reason is due to its lowest ranked attributes, which were being inexpensive to repair and the overall car affordability. The price of a car is one of the important attributes that customers look at when they are purchasing a car. Although the Prius is already the number one hybrid car, Toyota could keep the Prius at the top by making the car more affordable. For example, they could start by making their batteries less expensive to replace. This factor has been a reason why some people do not buy the Prius. Some say that the money people save in gas, with the Prius, is spent on replacing the battery. If Toyota could find a way to make a less expensive battery, then maybe the price of buying the Prius would go down. If the price of the car went down then the purchasing rate of the car could continue to increase.
