John Rolfe
In 1612 John Rolfe introduced the regular cultivation of tobacco to the state of Virginia. This is important because tobacco is one of the world biggest killer today.
Boston massacre
The citizens Of Boston did not like that the British were in there city. In 1770 a fight in the streets of boston, where citizens tried to attack a British troop. The troops shot back and killed about 5 people. This was a big event that lead to the Revolutionary War.
King Phillip
King Phillip was the war chief of the Wampanoag Indians and also had the name Metacomet. Phillip lead the Indians to war against the english colonists, to try and get the European Colonists out of New England. About fifty Indian villages were attacked and a dozen were Destroyed in the King Phillip war. The king was killed in 1676 and his decapitated head of displayed on a pole for twenty-five years in Plymouth.
Dred Scott
Dred Scoot sued for his freedom from his owners widower. The federal courts denied him several times because he was black and had no rights. In 1857 Scott gave it one more try with the Supreme court, and was again denied. But because of the ruling in this case were the north wanted to give blacks rights, it greatly influenced Abraham Lincoln's up coming nomination.
Harriet Tubman
In 1849 in fear of being sold, Harriet ran to the north on foot with the help of a white woman. She used the same path to return to the south and helped other slave to escape to the north, following the north star. Harriet was the most known of the many conductor's of the underground railroad.
Articles of confederation
The Articles of confederation was approved in 1777. It was the agreement the 13 Colonies agreed on, that established the United Stats of America as a Country. It was the first Constitution that was replaced int 1789 by the U.S. Constitution.
Shay's Rebellion
Shay's Rebellion was the post-Revolutionary fight Between New England and the new republic. The rebellion started in Massachusetts in 1786. It moved across other states and died down with the election of a popular governor, economic rise, and the creations of the U.S. Constitution.
