Modesty is required of All Belivers

1. A Saint must dress modestly, Behave moderately, and refrain from worldly behavior. Dress modestly- 1Thess. 5:22; 1Tim. 2:9-10; 1Peter 3:3-4. Behave moderately- Rom 12:18; 1Cor. 9:20-25; Philippians 4:5. Refrain from worldly behavior- Matt. 6:24-34; Rom. 12:2; 1John 2:15-16.

Dress modestly

1 Thes. 5:22

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1 Tim. 2:9-10

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; [10] But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

1 Peter 3:3-4

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Behave moderately

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Four things one must do to be saved:

1. Be as earnest to make it into the Kingdom as men are to win a race (1 Cor. 9:24; Hebrews 12:1-3; Galatians 2:2; Galatians 5:7; Phil. 2:16; Phil. 3:14).

2. Be temperate in all things (1 Cor. 9:25; 2 Peter 1:4-10). This refers to the months of severe training before a contest of wrestling or fighting with an opponent.

3. Fight with absolute confidence in victory (1 Cor. 9:26; 1 Cor. 4:9; 1 Cor. 15:32; 1 Tim. 6:12; 2 Tim. 4:7). Fighting was done by leather bands on the hands studded with pieces of metal.

4. Keep the body under and bring it into subjection (1 Cor. 9:27; Romans 6:14-23; Romans 8:12-13; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 3:16-17).

Refrain from worldly behavior

Two things not to love:
