My Family Vacation

It's 6:00 in the morning, and we just arrived home from our annual family vacation. I am glad we did not go to Disney in Florida again because we have been there so many times, and I have outgrown some of the characters. Besides, I am almost tall as my father, and I am a preteen, so I wanted to go where young people are hanging out. My parents decided to go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for our summer vacation this year, and we enjoyed the waves, the sand, and the different sites.

We left for Myrtle Beach from Philadelphia on a Friday and stayed for one week. My entire family went including my best friend Shun. After all, I would not have had much fun without my best friend to make me laugh. Shun is one year younger than I, but he thinks he is older because he can run faster. Along with Shun and my parents, my two older brothers Jordan and London came along. It took us 12 hours to get there by car. While riding in the back seat of the car, I counted the stars and named them one by one. During the night, the stars looked like they were spelling my name J-A-Y-L-E-N in the clouds, and I said wow! With a smile as big as a half moon, I woke up, and we were in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Myrtle Beach is a coastal city on the east coast in Horry County, South Carolina and its surrounding areas include over 60 miles of sandy white beaches. Myrtle Beach is one of the major centers of tourism in the United States because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches, attracting an estimated 14 million visitors each year. The area's attractions include its beaches, golf courses, amusement parks, an aquarium, over 1,900 restaurants, including seafood restaurants, and a number of shopping complexes.

There were so many attractions we did not know where to start. My parents played golf in the mornings, and they enjoyed the beaches during the day. Me and my best friend tagged along with my two older brothers, and we went to the amusement park, where we rode the twister, it was so much fun. We also went to the aquarium; it wasn't much fun because Shun got lost. After finding Shun we played in the sand and prepared to go home.

At last, our family vacation came to an end. The entire family complained of being tired because they had so much fun. The vacation in Myrtle Beach was a blast, even though Shun got lost.
