reaction paper for school setting

it was a good movie because it tells the story about sam whom whcih have a intellectual disability with a

mental capacity of a 7 years old. sam have a daughter with a homeless woman, who end up leaving sam with the

child. so sam has to raise the child alone with the support of his friends. the movies is about sam getting his

child back and some of it was about "love is all you need and no other things". and love is a big factor in

child parent relationship which was shown in the movie.

while watching the film i've notice that when people think of the mentally disabled, they automatically

think they are incapable of simple things. this film shows that there are many fully functioning people who are

more mentally disabled because of their work, relationship, communication and etc which sometimes people get wraped

up in.

it also shows that sam himself even if he is mentally challenged he can provide or capable of giving love

because the bond between parent and child is something hard to break even thou sam doesn't understand simple concept

still the bond is stronger than the disability. and even if others can provide much more than what sam can provide

for his daughter, still its the love and care of a loving father is all lucy's needs. even though sam has limitation,

he is capable of having a job and does the best he can to provide for lucy's basic need.
