As an upright Police officer and upholder of the law, I am of the opinion that above everything else, success demands hard work, grit and persistence to go into its making.
It is this quality that I see uppermost in Jesse Orlando, a remarkable individual who has battled the odds to come as far as he has in life and I am of the conviction that he is marked for further success.
From circumstances of adversity, he has single-handedly pursued his dreams. An excellent sportsman during his school years, I have been associated with him in taking forward his sporting career since then. However, it was not long before I realized that his interests did not lie in the field of sports and that he wished to pursue a mainstream academic career.
Jesse educated himself while simultaneously taking up employment in the field of sales and marketing.
While proving to be a diligent and ambitious student standing in the first three positions in his school, he excelled at his workplace as well. A remarkable effort went into making this combination of tasks and goals work. He then went on to pursue a Masters in Law with a specialization in juvenile rights and legal procedures. On completion of his studies, he worked closely with me on various programs whereby the police force reached out legal aid to juvenile delinquents from disadvantaged communities. His communication skills have been fine tuned by the nature of his work and his colleagues believe that he is a formidable opponent in a legal debate. He has a small but flourishing legal practice and continues to extend his legal services at negligible fees to the community at every chance he gets.
Jesse continues to pursue minor interests in sports and casually represents his community in Basketball. He has also authored a guidebook called Ð''Basketball for Beginners' at the request of the institution where he had his initiation into the game. Personally speaking, he is a focused
and ambitious person who wins the respect of one and all. He is even-tempered, easy going and an excellent conversationalist. He sometimes has the tendency to remain silent about his achievements and thereby foregoes much credit but this can only be attributed to his modesty and disregard for epithet. It must be noted that irrespective of his modesty, one and all have a high opinion of his personality and abilities.
