RECOMMENDATION FOR SIDDHARTHA
I highly recommend Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, it is an excellent book. People that are
seeking and trying to find their destination should definitely pick this book up .For so many of us
are in search for peace and true meaning of life. After reading this book everyone will take a
look at their own life and start to reevaluate it. You will not only look at your life but other's
as well. Everyone knows a Siddhartha in their lifetime. He was blessed with intelligence and
charisma. Siddhartha can also be a mystery for those who might be searching for spiritual
enlightment. You must read his book even if you disagree with some of Siddharthas' ways.
You will walk away from this book viewing the world differently. Anytime you are near
a river after reading this book you will listen attentively, you may even look at a rock differently.
Siddhartha goes on a self spiritual journey after leaving his parents and being raised a
Brahmin's son. A journey that takes him through a period of Hinduism, asceticism, self denial
and even meeting Gotama the Buddha
and having a meaningful conversation with him. Buddha
had a strong effect on Siddhartha but not strong enough where he wanted to stay and be a
follower. He believed and admired a lot of Buddha's teaching. Thou, he had a mind of his own.
There was one thing he disagreed with in Buddha's teachings that caused him not to want to be a
buddist. Siddhartha felt that teachers could not convey the wisdom of what they know.
