Should Europe adopt the use of full body scanner to ensure the security o fair travelers?

The security of air travelers moved up to a highly controversial issue in the last few years. Not only in planes, also on the streets the fear grows from bombing to bombing. Our main task is to develop new possibilities which help to avoid unnecessary risks which give terrorists the possibility to threaten our safety. One result of thinking about this are full body scanners. Canadian airports already reconsider if they should adopt them and European should, too because they guarantee the security of air travelers decisively. European airports should absolutely make us of them; they are much more effective than physical researches and metal detectors.

Full body scanners suspend threats like bombings on board of an airplane. Everyone has to face threats like that and the first priority has to be the safety of every air traveler. One of these threats became very serious when “a passenger on a U.S. bound flight […] tried to detonate an explosive on Dec. 25.“ Consequently, full body scanners would suspend terrorists and the threat of bombings.

Second of all, suspicious air travelers wouldn’t have a choice between a full body scan or a physical research. They would have to go through the scanner because or cannot say that a suspicion is less dangerous after a physical research. Suspicious people “[…] exhibiting strange behavior” (de Souza) would have to take a physical research because a “pat-down” would be insufficient. So if the airport stuff thinks that you are suspicious you would have to go through the body scanner in order to reduce the risk of detonations on board.

Third of all, one cannot deny that full body scanners detect weapons which a physical research or metal detectors probably would not detect. Terrorists might have luck at the physical research or at the metal detectors. Hence, they can carry the explosives on the plane. Full body scanners should absolutely be adopted by the European airports because they work much more effectively than current security measures.

Looking on these entire points one should keep in mind that European airports should absolutely count on full body scanners in order to maintain security of air travelers. Additionally suspicions would have no choice between a physical research and the body scanner because the body scanner works much more effectively than the airport stuff or metal detectors. Full body scanners would also delete the fear of bombings like the ones in Madrid and in London.
