Introduction

Our group project title is Movie Ticketing System. This system is created to allow computer users to register and become a member of the cinema. Our membership is open to everyone who is interested to join as member. All Internet users will know what movie and when the movie is showing for the day. User can check what movie is coming out soon and book an early ticket for the movie.

With this movie ticketing system, members can check the availability and book tickets of a movie. Movies showing time is displayed on the website for all members and non-members to see. Members can select the movie and the show time that they want and make a reservation. The system will then reply the member with a reference number which is the member's IC number once the booking has been confirmed.

By using this system, members who have registered need not waste their precise time of queuing up in front of the ticket counter. They can straight away go to the reservation counter and get their ticket after giving their reference number to the counter.

Objective

The movie ticketing system will have all these benefits like:

* More systematic and easy in doing work.

* Save time in doing work, spaces of storing data, cost and energy.

* Provide efficient and fast services to customer.

* Computerizes the original manual system

System Scope

The system is focused on developing the ASP.NET system that includes:

* To computerized the data or information about customers, and movies information.

* The system will be used by the customer via website service that manages the movie ticketing system.

* The customer just needs to enter the movie name, number of tickets, and movie show time and their ID number as the reference number in order to book the movie.

GSC is owned by 2 cooperations, which are PPB Group Bhd (PPB), and Golden Harvest Group (GH) of Hong Kong. PBB is a Malaysian based group listed on the stock exchange of Malaysia. It is a diversified group with interests in food industries, plantations, environmental, engineering, utilities and waste management, property and entertainment. GH is a listed Hong Kong based group, which has been in the film business for over 30 years. Its principal activities are worldwide Chinese film distribution, as well as film exhibition in Hong Kong and South East Asia. It enjoys a dominant position in Hong Kong, and with its partners, successfully brought the multiplex concept to the Far East.

The website allows computer user to download greeting card, wallpaper and trailer of a movie. The website will recommend computer user to the upcoming event and movies. Computer user can register to be a member of the corporation to the pleasure in events and contests. News and corporation background is displaying on the website also.
