Teams are very useful in performing work that is complicated, complex, interrelated, and/ or more voluminous than one person can handle. Teams make important contribution to organization in work areas that lend themselves to teamwork. Teamwork is a core value at Coca Cola, interdependent work task and activities that require collaboration particularly lend themselves to teamwork. Teams are appropriate where knowledge, talents, skills and abilities are dispersed across organization members and require integrated effort for task accomplishment.
Coco Cola believe that there company should be as diverse as the markets they serve and as inclusive as their brands. This diversity allows them to understand and connect to the needs of their consumers and their customers everywhere they operate and to continue to innovate in everything they do. At Coca-Cola employees have the opportunity to work on teams with people who have different backgrounds and ideas and who work in offices across the globe. "We are all unified by our love for the Company and desire to add value and make a difference".
FACTORS THAT CAUSE CONFLICTS IN THE ORGANIZATION
Poor Performance
* When one or more individuals within a work unit are not performing - not working up to potential - and this is not addressed, conflict is inevitable for e.g. if employees at Coca Cola are given a assignment in groups to complete and one of them is not participating, this may cause conflict within the organization.
Competition
* Coca Cola may experience strong competition between employees.
Competition that is not properly managed can result in employees sabotaging or insulting one another, which creates a hostile work environment.
Individuals Difference in values
* Young workers in Coca Cola may possess different workplace values than older workers. A difference in values is seen clearly when a generational gap is present. Difference in values may also result in conflict amongst workers.
Goal Differences
