Technology, Privacy, Accounting, Finance, and Governance Values Analysis
Values are distinguishing qualities in which are beneficial to an organization. According to Reino and Vadi (2010), "Organizational values reflect the beliefs and understandings of individuals or groups about the means and ends of the organization, and because values are socially validated and shared they predict much of the behavior of organizational members" (p. 5). Technology, privacy, accounting, finance, and governance values in an organization are the driving forces that creates successful business results. Reino and Vadi (2010) states "The formation of organizational values takes place within the sphere of influence of external and internal forces" (p. 5). Therefore, an understanding of the values of an organization is determined by important factors. Factors include the analysis of technology, privacy, accounting, finance, and governance.
Technology and Privacy Values
Technology and privacy goes hand in hand in an organization. Because technology changes frequently, the need for privacy arises for both the organization as well as employees. A company should differentiate between the employer's right and the employees' rights.
"Workplace privacy issues evoke an inherent conflict between what some may consider to be a fundamental right of the employer to protect its interests and the similarly grounded right of the employee to be free from wrongful intrusions into her or his personal affairs" (Hartman & DesJardins, 2011, p. 335).
Technology such as e-mail and instant messaging are often put to use by employees to send memos, letters, and quick questions. Emails and instant messaging provide easy and quick ways to rely information to another individual.
