The Creation Story Views

In the story of the creation, there are two tales hidden in one. Each tale is a different yet similar. Man, along with all other thins is created in each but the difference is in how each of the things were created. Man is created in the image of god in the first story and in the second story, man is made from clay and god breathes life into him.
In the first creation story God creates man in his very own reflection. Man was made to look as god would if he were to reside here on earth. Man was also made to behave as god would. With that in mind man is made to have a bold appearance
and a strong build. God makes man master of all; meaning that he rules over all the things that live on the earth. God says this aloud, "Let us male man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of the heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground." Page 48. God gave man a few tasks to complete on earth: they were to populate it, produce food, and subdue the earth. Basically god wanted man to make progress in life, move on to a more advance way of living, have kids and teach them, and cultivate the earth.
In the second story of the creation man is during the flood of the earth. This is when God sent water to fill up the earth to fertilize it. After the water had flowed Yahweh formed man out of the soil and "blew the breath of life into his nostrils." That is how man came to life. However, woman is not made from clay she is modeled from man. Yahweh sends man into a deep sleep and that is when he takes a rib from him and create woman. Woman is created to assist man to live a worry free life with his helper, woman. The only restriction is to not eat from the tree.
