High School Transcript and My College Ability (1)
My high school transcript doesn’t adequately show or display my abilities as a college student. I have had and learned from many life experiences since high school that have helped me develop the skills and abilities needed to succeed at the college level. Skills and abilities that aren’t reflected in my high school transcript. In high school I had no priorities. Since graduating high school and joining the job market. I have had to mature and develop quickly into a responsible adult. Having to take care of the basic responsibilities of life have caused me to develop a great sense of ambition. As well as realize the importance of being punctual. These are important skills for anyone to succeed in life. Whether that’s in school or work. Ambition and punctuality are skills that I did not possess as a high school student but have since acquired as an adult. This is why my high school transcript does not adequately reflect my abilities as a high school student.
While I was in attending high school, and like a lot of kids that age. I was given great advice by my parents and teachers. That if I pay attention and do good in school. When I graduate, I can get a good paying job and make lots of money. And like a majority of kids that I was hanging out with at the time. That advice went in one ear and out the other. After graduating high school and joining the workforce. I quickly realized the importance of being punctual in order to succeed as
an adult. Getting to work on time and accomplishing things in a timely manner are important skills that are valued in the work force. As an adult I have come to recognize and admire these skills and traits. And have adopted them into my own daily life as an adult.
When I got into the job market after high school and more importantly when I moved out of my parent’s house. It was a big reality check. Now everything was depended on me. Having never applying myself in school to get a good education. I had to get a low paying job. Making it difficult to pay bills on time, budget for food, gas, and other expenses. Within the first year I realized that I wanted more from life and began to become very ambitious. Ambition that if I would have been aware of in high school would have motivated me to take my parents and teachers advice to study hard and do good in school much more seriously. Ambition is very important for a person who wants to succeed. In high school I had no ambition and it shows in my transcript.
