Ever since video and computer games were introduced to the world, concerns have been raised regarding the violence in these games. The violence in these games often referred to cause pain or death to other things. With new hardware and advanced programming techniques, the violence becomes more and more realistic. In popular 1st person shooter games such as half-life and unreal tournament, dying soldiers in these games perform different movements when shot in different places. For example, if the soldier was shot in the head he will fall on his knee and his head might fall off, leaving a puddle of blood. In my opinion, the violence in videos games increases the realism of the games and does not affect the habits of the person playing it. If all violence games were banned in the world. Video game industry would only be an 880 million industry. Given that 11% of 8 billion is 880 million. This could force countless number of video game designer to quit their jobs and had to find jobs else where. Moreover a Stanford university study found that when video game playing time was reduced to less than 7 hours per week. People's verbal ability decreased by 50% and their physical ability decreased by 40%.

Lastly without violence in video games, games would be extremely boring. This is because the climaxes of most of the games we play consist of violence. Also the majority of human beings that play violent games find it amusing. For example if you can't kill or see blood in StarCraft, it would ruin
