Your own unique experiences form your management style. This week's individual work is to analyze your own management style and determine how it can be effectively utilized to maximize results.
What are the strengths and limitations of this leadership style? I am an emotionally aware manager. I spend time not only talking to my team, but also listening to what is said and to what is not. I lead by example, never issuing a task i am not prepared to do myself. Often i find myself right alongside my teammembers assisting and guiding them. I also listen and take advice from my team members as this shows my willingness to learn is as eager as i expect theirs to be.
Which of the five leadership styles best describes you? Team management leadership style involves many management skills, but generally as a secondary or background function of true leadership. Leadership instead relies most strongly on less tangible and less measurable things like trust, inspiration, attitude, decision-making, and personal character which are mostly the strength. These are not processes or skills or even necessarily the result of experience. They are facets of humanity, and are enabled mainly by the leader's character and especially his/her emotional reserves
