Office Software Memorandum

There have been many changes here within Title Resource Group this past year. Even though there were some rough adjustments. In October of last year, the entire company what was know as Cendant Settlement Services to listen to our President, Don Casey, announce that Cendant Corporation was going to split into four separate companies, very few people did not know what to expect. One of the biggest challenges was to have an independent system separate from the other divisions of the company. After some growing pains and other adjustments, Title Resource Group was finally created.

The intranet system here at Title Resource group has been put into affect since April 2006. This tool has been one of the most timesaving Group Collaboration Software in our company. This was a necessary step in our growth. TRG's Intranet keeps track of all of their important information on web sites, which are restricted to users, unless they have the security code to access them. Thanks to Internet technology, Title Resource Group is able to keep all of their information organized and easily accessible with a click of a button.

Just like any other system out there, the Intranet does some advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage is the increased productivity in the workplace. The Intranet can help all team players to find and review resources that are related to one's job responsibilities. Below is the homepage of TRG's Intranet site. (TRG.com, n.d)

There is also a time advantage involved with the intranet. Since TRG makes more information available to team players on an as needed basis. This will reduce the number of work hours in research and other readings.

Just like any other system out in the business world today, there can be some disadvantages to the intranet. First of all, the intranet is only as good as the information that is entered into the system. The other issue is that management can lose control of the material which is entered into the intranet. One way which TRG has elimated this concern is to appoint the technical advisor of the underwriting department to make and changes to the intranet system. Overall, management stongly believes that the intranet at TRG is one of most efficient systems within the company. (Intranet, n.d)
